003. Tetons, 1957: Frank Adams on the Grand Teton doing the standard
120' rappel from near the Catwalk to the Upper Saddle. This was the
completion of Mike Fain and Frank's ascent of the Upper Exum route.

007. Pete Gardiner on the East Ridge of Nez Perce, GTNP. The note on
the reverse of the print reads as follows: "Aug 23, 1957. Mike Fain
belaying [from the] summit at 4:30. [Descended] in storm. Total of five
rappels on climb. Very long climb for one day and first of season. Mike
and I in poor shape, exhausted at end of day. Descent via 4th class
couloir requiring 120' rappel into darkness."

023. Tetons, 1957: Pete Gardiner on the summit of St. John, gazing at
the storm enveloping the Grand and Owen (and headed toward him).
024. Yankee Boy Basin, 1955: from summit of Teakettle looking SouthWest
across the basin to the St. Sophia Ridge linking Gilpin, Mendoza, and
Chicago peaks. On the skyline in the distance, slightly left of
center, is the distinctive Lizard's Head.

1955: Crestone Needle. The prominent ridge on the right is the
Ellingwood Arete, climbed by Mike Fain and John Ohrenschall in 1962.

(Easten end) of the basin, 1955. L-R: the peaks forming the NNE
ridge extending from Sunlight: Jagged Mtn., Gray Needle, Peak 10,
